TRN Top 10 High School Football Poll (Oct. 13)

The TRN’s Top 10 poll is put together by Zach Duncan and indicative on a team’s performance relative to its classification:

1. Holliday (5-1) – Eagles held powerhouse Gunter to a respectable 5.04 yards per rush, but the Tigers had twice as many rush attempts and ran three times as many plays as Holliday in the deciding first half.

2. Waurika (6-0) – After blanking Ryan, the Eagles are up to four shutouts this season and are outscoring their opponents by an average of 53-3.

3. Hirschi (4-2) – Huskies’ district title chances aren’t extinguished, but they’ll need to win out starting with Gainesville on Friday and get some help along the way.

4. Seymour (6-1) – Garrett Siegert has 13 catches for 300 yards and four touchdowns in last two games against Hawley and Olney.

5. Graham (3-3) – Playmaker Daniel Gilbertson averaging seven catches and 97 receiving yards per game and is also a rushing threat.

6. Crowell (6-1) – Wildcats’ 95 points scored against Knox City are the most for the program since a 100-50 victory over Valley in the 2014 state semifinals. Crowell now has won last 10 against Greyhounds.

7. Tipton (5-2) – Two-time defending state champion Tigers are up to No. 3 in the Oklahoma AP Poll and have only lost to ranked Class B programs.

8. Windthorst (3-3) – One difficult 6-2A Division II test out of the way, but another one looms in a couple weeks against unbeaten Santo.

9. Archer City (5-1) – Wildcats get taste of own medicine by turning the ball over five times at Windthorst. After 14 first-quarter points, Trojans kept them out of the end zone after that.
